The Manchester String Quartet have extensive experience providing music for functions, weddings and similar occasions with a wide repertoire of classical, jazz, blues, pop and bollywood theme tune arrangements. The Quartet have also provided backing tracks for Manchester bands.

From dinners and parties, to conferences and office launches, the Manchester String Quartet offer a wide selection of background musical entertainment.

The Quartet are perfect for all situations from playing for supermarkets (Sainsburys, Cheadle) to exhibition stalls (CIPFA, GMex). Their selection of jazz and themes from musicals are a great accompaniment to your meal or drinks receptions, and their more traditional baroque and classical works can add an element of class to your occasion.

The Good the Bad & the Funky are an experienced 8-piece funk, soul and disco outfit who have established a formidable live reputation around Manchester and the North-West. they have played in a wide variety of situations, from festivals to weddings, corporate functions to club   nights, and take pride giving vibrant and energetic performances every time they play.


Formed at the Royal Northern College of Music 4 years ago, the band consists of professional freelance musicians working in diverse areas of the industry, from jazz to folk, electronica to samba, and classical to rock'n'roll. Our line-up consists of female vocalist, two saxophones, trumpet, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.

6pac jazz sextet


6pac Jazz Sextet have worked extensively throughout the UK since they formed in June 2002. The players met whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester UK) and the University of Manchester. In June 2004 6pac were awarded the RNCM Gold Medal, the highest accolade for performance that the college bestows, and the only time in its history that an ensemble received the award.


Later in the same year the band received the Peter Whittingham Award for  an Innovative Jazz Project from the Musicians Benevolent Fund for their project Last Minute Changes. This included a tour of northern universities and the recording of their debut CD featuring band new music by young people and the band themselves. The band continues to perform new music as well as putting their own distinctive mark on jazz standards. Their second album, Business as Usual, is a collection of their favourite arrangments to date


6pac perform all over the UK at festivals including Manchester, Isle of Wight and Peterborough, chamber music societies including St Martin In-The-Field, Macclesfield and Saddleworth and various jazz venues. 6pac have also performed twice for BBC Songs of Praise and for the BBC Three documentary Bohemian Rhapsody.

Alice & Moss - Vocal & Guitar Duo

This exciting and talented duo is made up of top calibre musicians, Alice Zawadski (voice/violin) and Moss Freed (guitar). Trained at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music and Boston’s Berklee College of Music respectively these two dynamic performers make up a highly engaging duo with a huge range of genres at their disposal.  Their repertoire includes the best standards from the American Songbook alongside soul and pop classics, folk songs and popular choices from the classical repertory. From this
range of options, a client can very easily form a bespoke set to suit their particular tastes or requirements. Anything from a set of ballads as soothing background music for dinner to an up-tempo soul set to get the party started.


Between them, Alice & Moss have performed in many guises across the world including support slots with the James Taylor Quartet, stints at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Shetland Folk Festival and Manchester International Festival. They have played in groups covering almost every genre all over the world for crowds of tens up to thousands and have been featured on national and local radio (BBC, Classic FM, XFM etc) and TV (BBC2, ITV) many times.


Alice & Moss are also available as a trio or quartet as required (trio - vocal, guitar, bass; Quartet - vocal, guitar, bass, drums) or larger ensemble – just ask!

The Jazz Cats are a beautifully sounding Jazz Quartet lead by a female singer available for Weddings, Parties, Corporate events, etc. The quartet is made up of guitar, double bass and drums and fronted by vocalist Zoe Chiotis. The Jazz Cats were formed specifically in order to provide high quality jazz entertainment at both private and corporate functions.

All four musicians are experienced professionals, having worked extensively in the jazz and function field, as well as being involved in radio, television and session work.

Their repertoire focuses on classic jazz and pop tunes that can be enjoyed by all ages and they can adapt their performances to provide mellow background music as well as up-tempo music for dancing. They can also extend their line-up to include saxophonist or a trumpet player.

The Booth Street West Jazz Sextet is made up of musicians trained at the Royal Northern College of Music. Featuring the breath-taking voice of Stevie Jennings-Adams, the sextet have an eclectic repertoire: including everything from traditional swing standards through to original compositions.


Working across the whole country, recent and upcoming highlights include: providing music for a short film for Granada Television filmed at Manchester's "URBIS", playing at the inaugural Manchester International Festival, as well as a featured slot at the "Shattered Sounds" event at Manchester’s Imperial War Museum.


The whole band are members of the RNCM Big Band, and have appeared with: Stan Sulzmann, Victor Mendoza, Tim Garland, Matthew Herbert, Digby Fairweather, Dennis Rollins, Jacqui Dankworth and Alex Wilson.
